This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software products within the Controls Services Business portfolio.
• Oversee controls and instrumentation tasks during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of upgrade projects or new installations.
• Manage the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics for Mark V, Mark VI, Mark VIe, Cimplicity, and HMIs.
• Provide technical guidance and support to customers regarding OEM packaged products.
• Diagnose PLC ladder logic issues and review software documentation.
• Implement modifications to control constants and adjust software sequencing.
• Configure and modify hardware and software related to gas and steam turbine systems.
• Troubleshoot existing control solution hardware and software installations on-site.
• Prepare field service jobs and collaborate with project/service managers.
• Conduct training sessions for customer employees as necessary.
• Oversee cable laying, insulation resistance testing, and connections.
• Maintain timesheets and secure customer signatures.
• Generate field service reports within one week of job completion.
• Provide timely and accurate reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and participate in technical meetings with customers.
• Adhere to environmental, health, and safety guidelines during field activities.
• Offer expert consultation on complex projects.
• Enter hours, expenses, and timesheets into internal systems.
• Assist in pre-outage and installation planning and may recommend and implement policies and procedures.
• Travel frequently, including offshore work and in restricted countries, and be available for holidays, weekends, or overtime as needed.
• Foster customer satisfaction and support business growth initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Extensive experience with GE Controls systems, particularly Mark V, Mark VI, or Mark VIe.
• Deep understanding of turbines, generators, control panels, PLCs, and field instrumentation.
• Practical experience with field tools and the ability to read technical drawings, including P&IDs and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient in both English and Arabic.
• Valid driver's license and passport are required.
• Willingness to travel frequently (75%) and work offshore or overtime as necessary.
• Familiarity with EX2100e is a plus.
• Capability to support outages and effectively address technical inquiries.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and take ownership of on-site activities.
• Willingness to travel both nationally and internationally and work additional hours when required.
• Experience with successful installations and managing outages.
• Knowledge of instruments, controls, and PLCs relevant to controls training.
• Understanding of computer network systems and switches.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• No relocation assistance provided.
• Flexibility to work on holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.
