Lead Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and maintain the foundational backend architecture, ensuring it remains scalable, secure, and optimized for peak performance.

• Collaborate closely with front-end developers, product managers, and UX/UI teams to craft seamless and cohesive backend solutions that meet product specifications and user requirements.

• Monitor and enhance the reliability, performance, and security of the backend system, implementing strategies to manage high-volume requests and guarantee smooth operation.

• Supervise database architecture and refine queries, ensuring data integrity and performance while addressing storage and scalability challenges.

• Conduct code reviews to ensure the production of high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code, fostering a culture of excellence in backend development.

• Assess and incorporate new technologies, frameworks, and tools to bolster the backend infrastructure and enhance development efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend software development.

• Profound expertise in Ruby on Rails and TypeScript.

• Strong comprehension of software architecture, backend design patterns, and scalable system design.

• Proven experience in building and maintaining APIs, backend services, and database-driven applications.

• Extensive knowledge of relational databases and performance optimization techniques.

• Awareness of application security and modern development best practices.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD processes.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.

• Proven experience in mentoring developers and contributing to technical leadership efforts.

• Familiarity with AI Agents and experience in implementing and developing AI tools and Agents.
