Lead Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Direct the design and oversight of the bank's integration architecture, facilitating scalable, secure, and resilient connections between core banking (Temenos Transact) and the wider ecosystem, such as digital channels, fintechs, and third-party systems.

• Establish integration architecture utilizing APIs, microservices, and event-driven patterns to interface with Temenos Transact.

• Create a versatile banking ecosystem, reducing tight coupling with the core banking platform.

• Select and manage integration patterns (API Gateway, Event Bus, Orchestration Services, ESB, etc.).

• Develop strategies for high availability, resilience, scalability, and observability.

• Suggest hybrid or cloud-native architecture blueprints that align with the bank’s strategic goals.

• Set API governance standards, including versioning, security, throttling, and monitoring.

• Define guidelines for development, integration, testing, and environments.

• Supervise integrations with third parties, vendors, fintechs, and digital channels.

• Ensure compliance with Temenos Transact best practices, including API framework and contract mapping.

• Avoid unnecessary customization or over-engineering within the core banking platform.

• Provide technical leadership to development, integration, and DevOps teams.

• Evaluate designs, ensure technical quality, and promote knowledge sharing.

• Coordinate API enablement and initiatives for digital transformation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in API design (REST, GraphQL).

• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).

• Experience with asynchronous integration methods (Kafka, MQ, EventBridge, Pub/Sub).

• Familiarity with integration patterns (Saga, Orchestration, API Gateway, Adapter Pattern).

• Practical experience with API Gateways and ESBs (WSO2, Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, etc.).

• Proficiency with containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).

• Experience with observability tools (ELK, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry).

• Strong understanding of security standards (OAuth2, OIDC, mTLS, IAM, secrets management).

• Awareness of best practices for exposing secure banking APIs.
