Junior/Mid AI Legal Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Responsible for ensuring compliance with global regulations related to AI and e-commerce platforms.

• Contracts and evaluations mandated by data protection legislation, including GDPR (Data Processing Agreements, Transfer Impact Assessments, etc.).

• Developing and maintaining necessary compliance documentation, such as internal records concerning data protection, AI governance, consumer rights, and related laws.

• Managing EverAI's inventory of AI systems in accordance with EU guidelines.

• Conducting risk assessments as per applicable safety regulations.

• Reviewing products and features for compliance with consumer rights and data protection standards.

• Overseeing daily compliance responsibilities, including standard IP matters (e.g., DMCA notifications, instances of imitation).

• Reviewing contracts (Nondisclosure Agreements, licenses).

• Updating legal terms, including Terms of Service, Privacy Notices, and content policies.

• Monitoring, researching, and analyzing pertinent legal developments, such as the application of new laws or regulatory guidance relevant to EverAI.

⛳️ Requirements

• A legal degree (e.g., Master of Law, Juris Doctor, or an equivalent recognized legal certification).

• 2-6 years of experience in legal counsel roles or comparable positions.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience specifically in contract work and data protection law.

• Capability to simplify intricate legal concepts into easily understandable language.

• A genuine interest in AI.

• Excellent communication and collaborative abilities (fluent in English).

• Goal-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and commitment.

• A proactive mindset – we are agile and seek individuals who can effectively balance execution, planning, and strategy.

• Humble and eager to learn, receptive to feedback.

• Comfortable with reviewing and discussing uncensored AI-generated content and NSFW material.
