This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with global laws relevant to AI and e-commerce platforms.
• Manage contracts and assessments necessary under data protection legislation, including GDPR (DPAs, TIAs, etc.).
• Prepare and maintain essential compliance documentation, such as:
• - Internal documents related to data protection, AI governance, consumer rights, and similar regulations.
• - EverAI’s inventory of AI systems (in accordance with EU guidelines).
• - Risk assessments in line with applicable safety regulations.
• - Reviews of products and features (e.g., concerning consumer rights and data protection compliance).
• Oversee daily compliance activities, including:
• - Standard intellectual property matters (e.g., DMCA notifications, copycat issues).
• - Reviews of contracts (NDAs, licenses).
• - Updates to legal terms (including TOS, privacy notices, and content policies).
• - Monitoring, researching, and analyzing relevant legal developments (e.g., the effects of new laws or regulatory guidance on EverAI).
• A legal education background (e.g., Master of Law, Juris Doctor, or recognized legal certification).
• 2 to 6 years of experience as legal counsel or in comparable roles.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working with contracts in general, and specifically in data protection law. For example:
• - Familiarity with Data Protection Agreements and Transfer Impact Assessments, with some experience preparing them.
• - Experience engaging with vendors regarding contract-related matters.
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into straightforward language.
• A keen interest in AI.
