This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.
• Managing compliance with international regulations related to AI and e-commerce platforms.
• Overseeing contracts and assessments mandated by data protection laws, including GDPR (DPAs, TIAs, etc.).
• Creating and maintaining essential compliance documentation, such as:
• Internal records pertaining to data protection, AI governance, consumer rights, and related regulations.
• An inventory of EverAI’s AI systems, aligned with EU guidelines.
• Conducting risk assessments in accordance with relevant safety legislation.
• Reviewing products and features for compliance with consumer rights and data protection standards.
• Managing daily compliance responsibilities, including:
• Addressing standard IP concerns (e.g., DMCA notices, instances of copycat products).
• Reviewing contracts (NDAs, licenses).
• Updating legal terms (including TOS, Privacy Notices, and content policies).
• Monitoring, researching, and analyzing important legal developments (e.g., the impact of new laws or regulatory guidance on EverAI).
• A legal degree (e.g., Masters of Law, Juris Doctor, or an equivalent legal certification).
• 2-6 years of experience as legal counsel or in comparable roles:
• A minimum of 2 years of your experience must involve working with contracts in general, and specifically with data protection law. For instance:
• You should be familiar with Data Protection Agreements and Transfer Impact Assessments, with some experience in preparing them.
• You should have experience in liaising with vendors regarding contract-related matters.
• Ability to simplify complex legal concepts into easily understandable terms.
• A genuine interest in AI.
