This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Strategize, design, and implement instructor-led and online training courses that align with the care management protocols and program objectives of the VA Office of Suicide Prevention.
• Perform training needs assessments and convert the results into focused workshop and remedial training modules.
• Create, update, and sustain training workbooks, job aids, facilitator guides, and educational materials for learners.
• Oversee and manage training activities within a Learning Management System, which includes enrollment, progress tracking, completion reports, and training documentation.
• Assess training effectiveness through evaluations, surveys, and feedback, and suggest enhancements based on findings.
• Organize sessions, coordinate logistical arrangements for both in-person and virtual training events, liaise with stakeholders, and assist with the onboarding of new VA personnel.
• At least 3 years of experience in training development, instructional design, or a similar learning and development position.
• A Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Education, Instructional Design, Public Health, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related discipline is required.
• Capability to obtain and sustain a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential.
• Ability to successfully undergo a background investigation in line with VA access prerequisites.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, both now and in the future.
• Proficient in using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Skilled in virtual training delivery platforms such as Adobe Connect, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom for Government.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Previous experience with federal agencies, VA, or government healthcare clients is strongly preferred.
• A professional clinical or behavioral health background is desirable.
• Familiarity with VA systems, policies, veteran-centered care frameworks, and the National Strategy for Preventing Veteran Suicide is preferred.
• Experience with Section 508-compliant materials or SCORM-conformant e-learning is a plus.
• Understanding of adult learning principles, including ADDIE or SAM, is preferred.
• Certification or coursework in Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, or similar areas is desirable.
