Junior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Designing the architecture for data products aimed at data analytics and data science, with a particular emphasis on use cases such as forecasting, feature engineering, customer behavior, and the integration of new data sources.

• Facilitate data transformation by establishing best practices in areas such as data modeling, performance optimization, and data governance, ensuring that the data utilized within Prima is consistent, accessible, and reliable.

• Develop reusable technologies that empower teams to ingest, store, transform, and deliver their own data products.

• Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to explore the product landscape and refine data requirements to improve data infrastructure.

• Solid academic foundation in STEM fields;

• Capability to deconstruct problems, quickly learn, and experiment with various approaches;

• Foundational programming skills (specific languages are not critical; we prioritize clean, maintainable code above all);

• A strong curiosity for data and software, whether through coursework, projects, or personal endeavors;

• Passion for developing systems end-to-end: from data ingestion and transformation to model creation and service deployment;

• Drive and enthusiasm to learn from more seasoned colleagues.

• Involvement in hackathons, open-source contributions, or personal projects;

• Proficiency in Python;

• Experience with data pipelines or distributed data systems (e.g., Spark, Airflow).
