This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• Construct, dismantle, modify, repair, relocate, and maintain scaffolding.
• Conduct daily pre-work inspections on scaffolding components and systems.
• Transport scaffolding components from staging areas to installation sites.
• Ascend scaffolds and work at heights while ensuring 100% tie-off and adhering to company protocols.
• Assess maximum intended load-carrying capacity for various scaffolding types.
• Safely and effectively utilize hand and power tools.
• Recognize hazards associated with scaffold erection, dismantling, and modification, including electrical risks and necessary clearances.
• Identify safe measures to mitigate risks of dropped objects and falls from heights.
• Assemble fall-restraint and fall-protection systems in compliance with OSHA and MSHA standards and guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Operate without supervisory responsibilities.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory, or ten (10) years of Scaffold Builder experience may be accepted.
• At least five (5) years of experience in scaffold building is required.
• Possession of a current Competent Scaffold Erector Card/Certificate is essential.
• Familiarity with tube and block systems, Safway systems, Wedge, and suspended scaffolding is necessary.
• Capability to safely climb scaffolds and work at heights while maintaining 100% tie-off.
• Understanding of OSHA and MSHA policies and procedures regarding fall-restraint and fall-protection systems.
• Proficiency in determining the load-carrying capacity of scaffolding.
• Ability to identify electrical and other scaffold-related hazards and establish safe mitigations.
• Competence in safely using hand and power tools.
• A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years are preferred for eligibility under the company vehicle insurance policy.
• Steel-toed boots are a requirement.
• Valid identification is necessary for TSA security checkpoints when traveling to and from the site.
• Capability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work in high, precarious locations, extreme cold, outdoor conditions, loud noise, and around moving mechanical components.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, in addition to the ability to adjust focus.
