IT Specialty Analyst – Epic

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Deliver daily support and enhance the functionality of Epic Inpatient clinical applications, encompassing system builds, upgrades, and improvements.

• Evaluate inpatient clinical and operational workflows to uncover opportunities for enhancement and better patient care outcomes.

• Collaborate with clinicians, nursing leadership, and operational teams to gather requirements and convert clinical needs into Epic Inpatient solutions.

• Conduct and document workflow assessments to identify functional and clinical requirements for optimal system utilization.

• Create and implement system test plans for Epic Inpatient upgrades and enhancements; record test results and outcomes.

• Oversee problem, incident, and change management processes related to inpatient clinical systems.

• Provide daily on-call support for issues related to inpatient applications as necessary.

• Clearly communicate system issues, enhancements, and workflow modifications to clinical and operational stakeholders.

• Manage smaller projects or components of larger projects.

• Coordinate the implementation or planning of projects related to software application releases.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Clinical Informatics, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Alternatively, experience may substitute for a degree: 3+ years of relevant Epic Inpatient experience with a Bachelor’s degree.

• 5+ years of relevant Epic Inpatient experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

• Certification in Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation (Required) or Certification in Epic Inpatient Clinical Orders (Required).

• A minimum of 3+ years supporting Epic Inpatient applications in a healthcare setting (Required).

• Experience with Clinical decision support is advantageous.

• Strong comprehension of inpatient clinical workflows, including nursing, provider documentation, orders, and patient care processes.

• Background in hospital and patient settings.

• Familiarity with Epic Inpatient builds, enhancements, and workflow optimization.

• Proven experience with system testing, validation, and documentation.
