International Trade Compliance Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the development of Precision Animal Health’s global logistics initiative.

• Establish and oversee global and regional courier partnerships; negotiate favorable rates, define service level agreements (SLAs), and implement performance scorecards with clear accountability.

• Create and execute scalable shipment standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inbound/outbound logistics, inter-site transfers, packaging, temperature control, and handling exceptions, all in line with global regulatory standards.

• Manage comprehensive import/export processes, including permits, Harmonized System (HS) classification, Incoterms, valuation, and customs broker oversight; proactively address customs holds and mitigate potential risks.

• Develop and maintain a network of in-market distributors for testing supplies; establish inventory strategies, lead times, and service expectations.

• Optimize logistics flows for PAH, encompassing labeling, duties and taxes, shipment tracking, and proactive communication with customers.

• Implement end-to-end shipment visibility tools and exception management processes to guarantee transparency and swift issue resolution.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, regulatory, quality, and commercial teams to align logistics strategies with business objectives.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at cost reduction, enhancing on-time delivery (OTD), decreasing cycle times, and ensuring scalability.

• Create and maintain KPI dashboards; regularly communicate performance insights and recommendations to leadership.

• Stay informed on evolving global trade regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or a similar field.

• Over 7 years of experience in global logistics or transportation, including international parcel/express shipping and customs brokerage.

• Extensive knowledge in trade compliance (HS classification, valuation, Incoterms) with a proven history in vendor negotiation and SLA management.

• Experience in building or scaling logistics programs, adopting a hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution.

• Demonstrated ability to create SOPs, train teams, and drive adoption across various geographical regions.

• Strong analytical skills with experience managing KPIs and utilizing data to guide decisions and improvements.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Preferred certifications in IATA DG, IMDG, and 49 CFR HAZMAT.

• Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, or biological sample logistics.

• Familiarity with cold chain logistics and temperature-sensitive shipments.

• Experience in high-growth or startup environments.
