• The **Intern Teacher Credential and Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program** is part of the Graduate Studies program within Reach Teachers College. Each year, the Intern/MAT program recruits for various contracted positions based on demand.

• - Professor of Practice (Core Courses)
• - Professors of Practice are responsible for teaching the graduate-level core courses in the program. They customize the provided lesson materials for their designated cohort and lead weekly synchronous online seminars. • - INT 610 Professor of Practice
• - The INT 610 course is a prerequisite that candidates must complete to be eligible for their intern credential and continue into the fall Intern Program course. This 8-week course is primarily asynchronous, with candidates engaging with content through learning modules on Canvas. The professor's role involves grading assignments, providing timely feedback, holding weekly office hours for candidate support, and communicating with candidates and staff as needed. • - Field Supervisor
• - Field supervisors play a crucial role in coaching candidates enrolled in the Intern Teacher Credential Program. For each candidate, field supervisors conduct six observation cycles per semester, totaling twelve observations annually. They assist candidates in integrating coursework into their teaching practice, passing the CalTPA, and applying an inquiry-based approach to achieve equitable outcomes for their students. • - MAT Professor of Practice/Adjunct Faculty
• - The MAT Professor of Practice/Adjunct Faculty Member is responsible for creating a 5-week elective course that complements and enhances the core courses in the Intern Program. They will then teach this course synchronously during the summer. Read the full job description here.
• - Contracted District Employed Supervisor
• - The District Employed Supervisor (DES) offers continuous support and oversight to candidates throughout their participation in the Intern Program. Typically, school sites provide a district-employed supervisor for their candidate; however, if this is not possible, they may contract a DES through Reach. • - Teaching Assistant
• - A teaching assistant (TA) aids candidate learning in core Intern Program courses by supporting the lead instructor (faculty or professor of practice). The TA participates in weekly synchronous course seminars and offers technical and instructional help through small group or one-on-one sessions. Beyond the seminars, the TA evaluates candidate assignment submissions, provides timely feedback to enhance learning, and communicates with both faculty/professors of practice and candidates as necessary. • - The faculty grading assistant supports the lead instructor (faculty or professor of practice) by evaluating candidate assignment submissions and offering timely feedback to foster learning. The faculty grading assistant regularly engages in communication with both faculty/professors of practice and candidates as needed.
• Candidates must possess a valid clear California credential for specific roles.
• Relevant teaching experience is preferred for all positions.
