Inpatient Orders Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assists JMC in achieving its mission by setting up and supporting Inpatient Order Entry, Provider Documentation, and Infection Control applications within the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system.

• Acts as a bridge between system end-users (clients), operational leaders, additional support teams, and vendors to design, build, and enhance their assigned applications efficiently and with high quality.

• Offers application support and optimization services.

• Evaluates business challenges/requirements and workflows, applying application expertise to fulfill operational and organizational demands.

• Collaborates with clients to contribute to the analysis, testing, documentation, and implementation of medium to high complexity tasks related to the assigned software.

• Serves as the main support contact for the application’s end-users.

• Detects issues within their application area as well as those affecting other application teams and takes steps to resolve them.

• Directs workflow design, constructs and tests the system, and assesses other technical challenges linked to Epic software.

• Recognizes and applies requested modifications to the system.

• Maintains ongoing communication with Epic representatives, including participating in weekly project team meetings.

• Cultivates an understanding of operational requirements to guide the organization’s workflows by attending site visits and other integrated sessions.

• Engages in training sessions and collaborates with end users.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical fields, Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Computer Systems, or equivalent experience in healthcare or IT-related domains.

• Epic Certified in the relevant application upon hire or to obtain certification within 9 months of employment.

• Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• RN degree is preferred but not mandatory.

• Previous analyst experience with inpatient order entry, provider documentation, and/or infection control systems.

• Background or knowledge of inpatient clinical operations and workflows (e.g., order entry, provider documentation, etc.).

• Strong comprehension of physician orders and downstream integrated workflows triggered by these orders.

• Familiarity with infection control regulatory reporting requirements (state and NHSN).

• Knowledge of hospital infection control workflows and policies.

• Awareness of antimicrobial stewardship programs and pharmacy clinical monitoring initiatives.

• Understanding of regulatory reporting requirements for the NHSN Antimicrobial Usage and Resistance module (AUR).

• Familiarity with the processes of how antimicrobials are prescribed and dispensed.

• Knowledge of relevant lab results for specific medications.
