This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Accountable for the effective execution of data governance policies.
• Serve as the subject matter expert in managing and maintaining data, ensuring data quality, addressing data-related challenges, and complying with regulations.
• Function as the key liaison among business units, information management, information technology, and engineering teams.
• Aid in the analysis, design, and development of a roadmap, design pattern, and implementation from a current versus future state perspective within a unified architectural framework.
• Collect and assess data to develop architectural requirements at the project level.
• Oversee multiple software projects as a project leader or internal consultant; support intricate software projects that demand extensive domain knowledge or specialized architectural expertise.
• Engage in technical and business discussions within the data domain regarding future architectural directions.
• Contribute to the Data Governance Council.
• Participate in the development of data and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components that can be combined in various ways for different business needs.
• Investigate and assess emerging technologies, industry trends, and market developments to support project initiatives and operational activities.
• Proactively monitor and manage costs within the organization.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or a related field.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience with data catalog tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra, Informatica), including workflow development and metadata support within the platform.
• Four (4) years of experience in software architecture design and development.
• Work experience with Snowflake or Databricks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Proficiency in SQL for developing and maintaining data models, as well as optimizing data pipelines.
• Experience in optimizing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes for improved performance and efficiency.
• Familiarity with data management tools, including data catalogs, metadata management tools, and databases.
• Certification in data management or related fields (e.g., DMP, DM-BOK, etc.).
• Exposure to industry-standard data catalog, automated data discovery, and data lineage tools (e.g., Informatica, Alation, Collibra, TAMR, etc.).
• Familiarity with industry-standard data modeling tools (e.g., ERWin, ER Studio, etc.).
• Knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica or Talend.
• Practical experience in writing SQL scripts for Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or HiveQL.
• This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
