Indonesian Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• The Indonesian Telephone Interpreter is tasked with managing on-demand calls and conveying the meaning of conversations between Indonesian and English speakers.

• The interpreter eliminates communication barriers across various sectors served by LanguageLine Solutions, including Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Financial Services, Utilities, Travel & Hospitality, General Business, Law Enforcement, Court, and 911.

• The interpreter processes information swiftly and accurately while being aware of sensitive cultural nuances.

• The interpreter maintains professionalism and courtesy at all times, utilizing appropriate terminology and comprehending common industry protocols and practices.

• Interpreting sessions may encompass topics that are simple or complex, as well as technical or non-technical in nature.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in both Indonesian and English, along with a deep understanding of the related cultural dynamics.

• Capability to offer cultural competency and evaluate regional and accent variations to facilitate effective communication with Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals.

• Outstanding listening, retention, and note-taking abilities to uphold a high standard of accuracy during interpretation.

• Capacity to focus, remain detached from the conversation, and maintain neutrality and objectivity at all times, especially during sensitive discussions such as end-of-life conversations, pregnancy termination, vaccinations, and issues related to sexual orientation and/or gender expression.

• Educational background or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation, or interpretation is preferred.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
