This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.
• Conduct investigations and assessments of daily property claims on behalf of clients.
• Provide prompt, precise, equitable, and professional service while independently managing a high volume of claims.
• Make claim decisions within the delegated authority according to company and carrier policies.
• Accurately interpret policy coverages and implement suitable claims practices.
• Establish and communicate reserves in accordance with carrier expectations.
• Stay informed about current insurance policies, guidelines, and industry practices.
• Understand local construction methods, pricing, and repair standards.
• Submit additional reports as necessary (e.g., severe incident reports, ITV reports).
• Deliver outstanding customer service to all insureds, clients, and stakeholders.
• Uphold high standards of professional conduct throughout all assignments.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in handling property claims.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with Xactimate and Symbility estimating software.
• Strong knowledge of insurance policies, practices, and procedures.
• General construction knowledge is highly preferred.
• This position is classified as a 1099 Independent Contractor Opportunity.
• You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and business expenses.
• You have control over the manner, timing, and method of completing your work, in line with client expectations.
• You may offer services to other clients or entities, subject to applicable confidentiality or non-compete terms.
