This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Create and implement robust security architectures for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices for cloud implementations.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts within cloud ecosystems.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to pinpoint vulnerabilities and risks.
• Deploy and manage security tools and technologies to enhance cloud security measures.
• Design and manage IAM policies and roles to guarantee secure access to cloud resources.
• Implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) and other access controls to safeguard sensitive information.
• Conduct periodic reviews of IAM policies and access permissions.
• Implement encryption and data protection mechanisms to secure data both in transit and at rest.
• Develop and maintain data loss prevention (DLP) strategies tailored for cloud environments.
• Ensure reliable backup and recovery processes for critical data.
• Integrate security practices into the DevOps pipeline to promote secure development and deployment.
• Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to optimize security operations.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to foster a culture of security.
• Gather and analyze threat intelligence to remain informed about emerging threats and attack methodologies.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans and playbooks for cloud environments.
• Conduct post-incident reviews to identify lessons learned and facilitate improvements.
• US Citizenship is required, due to the nature of client engagement.
• Bachelor's degree AND a minimum of eight (8+) years of work experience in cybersecurity, specifically focused on cloud security; or a Master's degree AND a minimum of six (6+) years of relevant work experience in cybersecurity, with an emphasis on cloud security.
• Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., CSA, NIST).
• Proficient in using cloud security tools and technologies (e.g., AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, Google Cloud Security Command Center).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capability to think from an attacker's perspective.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
• Must currently reside in the contiguous United States.
• Availability to work in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office location as needed.
