This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• Supervise café and restaurant staff at the Qavartarvik Customer Lodge.
• Oversee the preparation and serving of food items.
• Inspect dining areas, utensils, and equipment for cleanliness.
• Train designated personnel under the direct guidance of the Restaurant Manager.
• Coordinate tasks to enhance operational efficiency.
• Maintain HACCP records and ensure high stock levels of resale products.
• Monitor employee files and uphold uniform standards.
• Address guest concerns and complaints effectively.
• Update retail signage and ensure menu boards are current.
• Maintain POS item rosters and ensure accurate pricing information.
• Assist the Restaurant Manager with reporting and tracking product movement.
• Engage in serving, cleanup, cashiering, dishwashing, food preparation, cooking, catering-tray assembly, and grab-and-go production.
• Monitor and serve food-service lines during peak customer periods.
• Complete food orders and related items.
• Support a robust safety program and comply with relevant regulations.
• Fill out inspection checklists and ensure availability of supplies.
• Uphold sanitation standards and strive for continuous service quality improvement.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of proven supervisory experience managing five or more individuals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• ServSafe certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
• Flu vaccination required prior to hiring and annually thereafter.
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for the preceding three years.
• Ability to perform rotational work in Bethel, Alaska.
• Capability to stand continuously, walk frequently, and occasionally lift, pull, and push.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Preferred: relevant national culinary certification(s).
• Preferred: knowledge of food safety policies and procedures, including HACCP forms.
• Preferred: diverse and responsible supervisory experience in a café/restaurant setting.
