This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver specialized education course content in a virtual setting.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance tailored to the Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) of students.
• Ensure the provision of special education and related services as determined by the IEP team.
• Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding student therapies.
• Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and necessary state-specific documentation for special education.
• Facilitate and lead collaborative meetings for special education, including annual IEP meetings.
• Implement accommodations and modifications utilizing assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text.
• Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments in accordance with IEP requirements.
• Support inclusion and promote student success within the general education classroom.
• Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals.
• Document parent contacts and interventions for students.
• Analyze student data to inform remediation and enrichment strategies.
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous online learning experiences.
• Maintain the grade book and make decisions regarding placement and promotion.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Foster positive relationships with families and maintain communication with students and their parents or learning coaches.
• Assist parents and learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and general virtual-classroom troubleshooting.
• Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or school obligations.
• A valid and current Arkansas Department of Education Special Education Teaching Certification is required.
• Must be a resident of Arkansas.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Active state teaching license is necessary.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Capability to work independently, typically for 40+ hours each week.
• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during working hours.
• Ability to collaborate with other educators to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data.
• Ability to utilize student data to inform instructional decisions.
• Open to receiving regular coaching from administrators.
• Ability to adapt to change and ensure positive student outcomes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Experience with the target age group is preferred.
• Experience in supporting adults and children with technology is preferred.
• Experience in teaching online or in a physical classroom setting is desirable.
• Familiarity with an online learning platform is preferred.
