This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver designated course content in a virtual setting
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process
• Tailor instruction to meet the individual needs of students as outlined in each student’s IEP
• Engage with parents and related service personnel to ensure proper therapies are administered
• Create compliant IEPs, progress reports, and necessary special education documentation
• Lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP discussions
• Implement accommodations and modifications utilizing assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible texts
• Adjust lessons and assessments in accordance with IEP specifications
• Ensure students are included and successful within the general education environment
• Gather data and work samples to track progress towards IEP objectives
• Maintain records of parent communications and student interventions
• Analyze student data to recommend remediation and enrichment strategies
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Oversee the grade book and make decisions regarding placement and promotion
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students and parents
• Assist learning coaches and parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting concerns
• Travel for in-person professional development, student assessments, and school obligations as necessary
• Florida 5 Year Professional Special Education certificate
• Florida Reading and ESOL Endorsements
• Residency in Florida is required
• Bachelor's degree
• Active state teaching license
• Capability to pass required background checks
• Ability to work independently, typically for 40+ hours per week
• Capacity to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours
• Ability to collaborate with teachers to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data
• Proficiency in utilizing student data to inform instructional decisions
• Openness to regular coaching from administrators
• Willingness to embrace change and adapt to ensure outstanding student outcomes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Experience with the targeted age group, online or traditional teaching, online learning platforms, and supporting adults and children with technology is preferred
