High School Social Studies Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated course material in an online setting

• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process

• Concentrate on the individual needs of students and track their progress through Stride K12’s learning management system

• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to further educational goals

• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities

• Tailor learning experiences and adjust instruction based on student proficiency

• Enhance course content using authorized synchronous and asynchronous tools

• Maintain the grade book and uphold academic integrity

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notify administrators of any performance issues

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments

• Build positive relationships with families and communicate effectively with students and learning coaches/parents

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting

• Travel as necessary for professional development, student testing, and school obligations

⛳️ Requirements

• Florida 5 Year Professional 6-12 Social Studies Certificate

• Residency in Florida

• Bachelor's degree

• Valid state teaching license

• Capability to pass the required background check

• Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week

• Capacity to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during working hours

• Experience with the specified age group

• Experience assisting adults and children in using technology

• Experience in teaching online/virtually and/or in traditional classroom settings

• Familiarity with online learning platforms

• Skill in interpreting and generating numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data for instructional decisions

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and familiarity with K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
