This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver tailored high school science course material in an online setting
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous teaching, support, and guidance
• Manage the educational process and customize learning experiences for individual students
• Track student progress through Stride K12’s learning management platform
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to facilitate learning towards set objectives
• Differentiate instructional methods based on student mastery
• Enhance course content utilizing authorized asynchronous and synchronous tools
• Maintain the grade book and uphold academic integrity for students
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, notifying administrators of any performance issues
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Build and sustain a positive relationship with families
• Communicate with and promptly respond to students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting challenges
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events
• Arkansas Department of Education High School Science Teaching Certification is required
• Bachelor’s degree
• Active state teaching license
• Capability to pass the required background check
• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week
• Capacity to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during working hours
• Experience with high school students is preferred
• Familiarity with supporting adults and children in using technology is preferred
• Experience teaching in an online or traditional classroom setting is preferred
• Experience with online learning platforms is preferred
• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data for instructional decisions
• Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow educators
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
