This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Deliver high school mathematics curriculum content in a virtual setting
• Offer instruction, support, guidance, and tailored learning assistance
• Track student progress via the learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/Learning Coaches to achieve learning objectives
• Assume responsibility for academic performance and attendance
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Conduct a minimum of 15 hours per week of live synchronous instruction
• Provide asynchronous assistance through emails, course planning, learning strategies, and data analysis
• Work together on instruction, resources, interventions, student data, and professional growth
• Enhance course content using approved asynchronous and synchronous tools
• Submit grades and student assignments; maintain the grade book
• Make decisions regarding placement and promotion and communicate concerns about student progress
• Establish positive relationships and maintain regular communication with families
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic technology inquiries
• Collaborate with fellow educators to facilitate student advancement and share stakeholder responsibilities
• Organize social and educational events, including virtual clubs and outings
• Travel to testing locations to supervise state examinations
• Adhere to school policies, procedures, and relevant laws
• Contribute to onboarding initiatives and participate in committees as needed
• Bachelor's degree
• At least six (6) months of student teaching experience
• Fulfill the requirements for a licensed teacher according to the Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Administrative Code
• Possess pedagogical knowledge relevant to the content taught and the ability to apply critical thinking
• Familiarity with state content standards
• Capacity to adapt to change and resolve problems independently
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects
• Ability to work autonomously, typically exceeding 40 hours per week
• Capability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions, generally from 9–5 or 8–4
• Willingness to travel as necessary, averaging once a month or roughly 10% of the time
• Reliable high-speed internet connection
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and educational platforms
• Commitment to maintaining teacher certification and required professional development hours
• Fluency in technology systems, programs, and curriculum
• Ability to pass a mandatory background check
• Experience with the target age group preferred
• Experience in supporting adults and children with technology
• Experience working in a virtual setting
• Experience in teaching online/virtual settings and/or traditional brick-and-mortar environments
• Familiarity with Blackboard Collaborate or other online platforms
• $2,000 sign-on bonus
