This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Deliver specialized high school English course material in an online setting
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous instruction, support, and guidance
• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student proficiency
• Enhance course materials using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools
• Track student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
• Maintain the grade book while ensuring academic integrity among students
• Make decisions regarding student placements and promotions, and inform administrators of performance issues
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Build positive relationships with families and maintain communication with students and parents/learning coaches
• Assist parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom setting
• Collaborate with principals, coaches, administrators, teacher trainers, and fellow educators
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events
• Bachelor's degree
• Active teaching license issued by the state
• Valid High School (9-12) English Teaching Certification from the state Department of Education
• If certification is from another state, proof of New Mexico license application must be provided within 7 days of the start date, and an approved New Mexico teaching license must be obtained within 90 days
• Capability to pass the required background check
• Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
• Capacity to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during work hours
• Experience with the designated age group is preferred
• Experience in supporting both adults and children with technology is preferred
• Experience in teaching online/virtually and/or in a traditional classroom setting is preferred
• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred
• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data
• Capability to utilize student data to inform instructional choices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curricula
• Availability to work a schedule typically from 9-5 or 8-4, as defined by the school
