This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +4 more countries.
• Overseeing translation and copy-editing assignments
• Collaborating with freelancers and agencies
• Managing language resources
• Addressing terminology inquiries
• Working alongside clients and internal teams to improve workflow efficiency
• Conducting copy-editing tasks for designated projects or accounts
• Executing on-demand translation assignments
• Serving as the lead linguist for assigned accounts
• Taking responsibility for deliveries that were translated internally or by external partners for one or multiple accounts into their target language
• Preparing, organizing, and maintaining language materials (including glossaries, Style Guides, and work instructions) to meet quality standards
• Handling project-related inquiries
• Facilitating effective communication among team members and addressing questions regarding terminology and language issues
• Coordinating with freelancers, agencies, and internal linguists on designated projects or accounts
• Testing and qualifying new freelancers and vendors as necessary
• Developing and training internal linguists, as well as new and existing freelancers, in alignment with the accounts’ and Welocalize’s requirements
• Engaging with clients on linguistic issues as needed
• Contributing to the development of improved working processes
• Suggesting process enhancements.
• Achieving or surpassing KPIs related to productivity, timely delivery, and quality
• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistic Studies, or a related field
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken
• Native proficiency in the TARGET language
• Over 8 years of relevant experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing
• At least 5 years of experience in review
• Comprehensive understanding of the localization process
• Strong knowledge of terminology across various subject areas
• Recognized subject-matter expert within the company for assigned content specialties, service lines, and processes
• Proficient in using standard CAT tools, such as XTM and SDL Studio, along with issue tracking and query management tools like JIRA
• Quick learner of new localization tools and applications
• Strong user experience with standard software, including Windows and Office applications
• Capable of providing clear, concise, and constructive feedback
• Skilled in coordinating internal and external translators
• Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities
• Willingness and capability to train and share knowledge with others
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Competent in effectively presenting information and addressing questions from groups of managers, clients, and linguists
• Experience and readiness to communicate with customers at various levels
• Proficient in resolving practical issues and managing a range of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization
• Ability to collaborate within a virtual team
