
Healthcare Accounting Analyst, Medicaid Finance & Policy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide financial and analytical assistance for Medicaid reimbursement, rate-setting, and provider payment design projects.
• Evaluate healthcare financial and operational data, including provider cost reports, financial statements, claims and encounter datasets, utilization trends, and public data.
• Review, validate, and summarize financial and cost report information submitted by providers.
• Aid in the creation of reimbursement models and rate-setting analyses for different types of providers.
• Develop Excel-based models, reconciliations, and supporting documents for client deliverables.
• Generate technical documentation, client reports, and presentation materials that summarize methods, assumptions, and findings.
• Collaborate with team members to address complex financial and operational challenges.
• Support healthcare policy and reimbursement research related to provider payment methodologies and funding strategies.
• Conduct ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Over 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, financial analysis, healthcare finance, or reimbursement.
• Proven experience in analyzing and reconciling financial, operational, or claims-related data.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including working with large datasets, reconciliations, and complex formulas.
• Familiarity with SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH or XLOOKUP, nested IF statements, and experience in macro use/development up to full VBA coding.
• Background in healthcare accounting and financial reporting, cost reporting, or Medicaid/Medicare payment analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct structured, detail-oriented analytical tasks.
• Capable of clearly communicating technical financial concepts both verbally and in writing.
• Proficient in conducting research, interpreting reporting requirements, and effectively summarizing findings.
• Experience with SQL, SAS, R, Python, or similar programming languages and tools.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Milliman providing immigration support or sponsorship now or in the future.
