Health Scientist I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in public health evaluation activities by engaging in evaluation planning, implementation, data analysis, technical support, and reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree is preferred; a Ph.D. in Public Health, Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Social Sciences, or a related discipline is ideal.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in supporting initiatives related to program evaluation for the CDC, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), or other federal public health agencies.

• Preference for candidates with experience in supporting Diabetes prevention programs.

• Proven experience in performing a systematic assessment of a program or project's inputs, activities, and outputs to assess its value and enhance the program.

• Demonstrated ability to develop an evaluation plan, formulate evaluation questions and indicators, gather and analyze both quantitative and qualitative program data, interpret the findings within the program context, and report results.

• Experience in creating a program logic model, determining suitable program outcomes, facilitating meetings with internal and external partners, and providing training or assistance on evaluation methods, concepts, and tools.

• Familiarity with concepts and methods of implementation research, including process evaluation and the assessment of implementation barriers and facilitators.

• Understanding of the rules, procedures, and principles governing intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.

• Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, and SharePoint) efficiently and effectively.

• Competence in using and managing CDC Administrative Systems (HUMAN SUBJECTS, OMB, AND IRB, and E-Clearance) efficiently and effectively.

• Prior experience adhering to government procedures and guidelines is essential.
