Health Plan Document Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Convert intricate benefits information and non-standard plan terminology into straightforward, compliant plan language for self-funded plans.

• Analyze, draft, edit, and review legal and regulatory documentation related to plans, including SPDs, plan amendments, SBCs, and restatements.

• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and internal procedures that impact self-funded health plans.

• Negotiate deadlines when necessary.

• Influence enhancements to business processes, policies, and system infrastructure.

• Deliver high-quality documentation that adheres to departmental standards.

• Correct spelling, grammatical, and formatting errors before documents are dispatched to customers.

• Participate in departmental projects as required.

• Facilitate onboarding, policies, procedures/directives, and refresher courses for renewal team members and new employees.

• Perform additional duties as assigned, requested, or necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of recent and relevant experience with plan documentation.

• Extensive experience in writing plans to support self-funded plans.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Critical thinking, persuasive communication, advising, and counseling abilities.

• Capacity to anticipate workload requirements and execute tasks with minimal supervision.

• Effective time management, organizational, and prioritization capabilities.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience (high school diploma plus 2 years of relevant experience).
