This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.
• Provide support to the product team throughout the entire feature development lifecycle by leveraging extensive health insurance knowledge and operational insights.
• Convert comprehensive health insurance processes — including underwriting, policy administration, claims, renewals, and billing — into precise product requirements and functional documentation.
• Assess and establish business rules, decision engines, and workflow logic to guarantee that all outputs are accurate, compliant, and applicable in practical scenarios.
• Actively engage in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to confirm functionality, workflows, and business logic.
• Aim for optimal Straight-Through Processing (STP) across product flows, minimizing manual intervention through smart system design.
• Specify automation rules, decision-making frameworks, and exception handling processes that align with real-world insurance operations.
• Ensure that the product accurately mirrors the business's operational methods, embedding efficiency and scalability within the system.
• Convert regulatory and policy requirements into system logic and product features.
• Perform market and competitor analysis to uncover feature gaps, best practices, and emerging trends in global health insurance.
• Serve as a liaison among Product, Engineering, and Business teams — translating business needs into product requirements and facilitating technical implementation.
• Participate in product roadmap discussions and prioritization from a health insurance viewpoint.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and insurers, to collect feedback and validate product direction.
• Assist GTM, sales, and pre-sales initiatives with in-depth functional expertise as required.
• Over 12 years of experience in the insurance sector.
• A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in health insurance.
• Experience in two or more health insurance functions: product setup, underwriting, pricing, policy administration, endorsements, billing, claims, or renewals.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with product, technology, and business teams in a dynamic environment.
• Hands-on, results-driven, and enthusiastic about converting domain expertise into tangible product features.
• Possess a systems-oriented mindset with an inherent ability to grasp how processes interconnect, where automation can replace manual tasks, and how rules evolve into logic.
• Critical, analytical, innovative thinker — capable of identifying overlooked gaps and suggesting solutions rather than merely observations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills — capable of articulating complex insurance concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven client-facing skills to engage with clients and stakeholders confidently, even without formal sales experience.
