Health Insurance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Claims & Insurance Follow-Up: Initiate claims with Medi-Cal, Medicare, VA, medical groups, and commercial insurance entities for personal injury cases.

• Oversee and resolve issues related to claims to guarantee timely collection of necessary documentation.

• Maintain continuous follow-up with all relevant insurance providers until each lien is completely resolved at the time of case settlement or closure.

• Communicate with insurance carriers to confirm treatment details, payments, and the status of claims.

• Lien Review & Dispute Support: Conduct thorough reviews of medical bills and validate health insurance liens against treatment records and payments.

• Identify discrepancies, invalid charges, or missing information.

• Submit disputes to adjust charges as required.

• Review medical records and bills within the file to support dispute submissions.

• Case Coordination & Internal Support: Work alongside the case management team to secure missing reports, invoices, or documentation.

• Collaborate with attorney teams to ensure tasks are performed accurately and timely.

• Act as the primary contact for health insurance-related inquiries across the firm.

• Provide assistance to team members on intricate lien-related matters.

• Client & Administrative Support: Engage with clients to collect necessary details or documents when required.

• Keep precise records, documentation, and updates on cases.

• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in health insurance, medical liens, claims, billing, or personal injury case support is preferred.

• Familiarity with Medi-Cal, Medicare, VA, medical groups, or commercial insurance providers is a significant advantage.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately review medical bills, treatment records, and payment information.

• Excellent organizational abilities and follow-up skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Comfort in managing confidential and sensitive case information.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with case managers, attorneys, insurance providers, and clients.
