This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Accurately and efficiently process all requests for the release of information, particularly medical record requests.
• Receive and handle requests for patient health information in accordance with company and facility guidelines.
• Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive patient information.
• Implement medical privacy regulations and guarantee compliance with HIPAA.
• Organize, protect, assemble, and finalize patient health records.
• Prepare new patient charts utilizing both paper sources and electronic health records.
• Generate digital images of documents for storage in electronic medical records.
• Retrieve and correctly transmit patient records to both internal and external requestors.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls from patients, insurance providers, and attorneys.
• Provide updates on medical record statuses and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Record information across multiple platforms using dual computer monitors.
• Notify the manager regarding work progress, site challenges, and varying workloads.
• Assist with walk-in requests, faxes, mail handling, data entry, scheduling pickups, and other administrative tasks as required.
• Achieve site-specific productivity goals.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Capability to commute between locations as necessary.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods when needed.
• Basic proficiency in computer usage.
• Comfortable operating phones, fax machines, printers, and general office equipment.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining accurate, compliant medical records.
• Strong skills in data entry.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
• Capability to organize and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to respond to requests in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfortable working in a high-volume production environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
