This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.
• Receive and process requests for patient health information in line with Company and Facility policies and procedures.
• Uphold confidentiality and security regarding all privileged information.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Company and facility software applications.
• Comply with the Company's and Customer facilities' Code of Conduct and policies.
• Notify the manager about work-related challenges, site difficulties, and/or fluctuating workloads.
• Assist with additional work duties or responsibilities as needed or requested.
• Consistently apply medical privacy regulations to prevent unauthorized disclosures.
• Manage patient health records effectively.
• Ensure the safeguarding of patient records and compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Prepare new patient charts by collecting documents and information from both paper sources and electronic health records.
• Ensure that medical records are organized in the standard order and are accurate and complete.
• Create digital images of paperwork for storage in the electronic medical record.
• Respond to requests for patient records from both internal and external sources, retrieving and transmitting them appropriately.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls professionally.
• May assist with patient walk-ins as necessary.
• May support administrative tasks such as managing faxes, opening mail, and performing data entry.
• Must meet productivity expectations as defined for the specific site.
• May schedule pick-ups as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to commute between locations as necessary.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons when required.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.
• Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and other standard office equipment on a regular basis.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Detail-oriented and focused on ensuring accurate and compliant information for medical records.
• Strong data entry capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while responding to changing priorities and role requirements.
• Competent in organizing and managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Capable of responding to requests in a fast-paced environment.
