This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Take full ownership of the search and discovery process: You will establish the strategy and roadmap for the search experience and the content library.
• Manage search quality: You are responsible for the ranking trade-offs and the quality standards for the content we display.
• Oversee browsing and recommendations: You will also manage the browsing experience, along with the recommendations and curation that enhance its quality.
• Curation: You will determine which content deserves placement, where it should be positioned, and the rationale behind these decisions.
• Identify gaps: Utilize library data and search demand to uncover missing content across various topics, formats, and languages.
• Expand the library: Increase our content library from 300,000 to millions of pieces using scalable systems.
• Manage taxonomy and metadata: You will oversee the taxonomy and metadata, integrating AI-driven labeling with human quality assurance.
• Collaborate with engineering on search systems: Work closely with engineering, data, and AI teams to understand the mechanics of search.
• Develop search and metadata evaluation loops: Create effective systems to assess whether search functionality is improving.
• Collaborate with AI and clinical/research teams.
• 8+ years of experience in product management at consumer tech companies, ideally those with content libraries or marketplace search dynamics.
• Experience in search, recommendations, or content discovery, with a solid understanding of queries, intent, and ranking trade-offs.
• Strong knowledge in one or more areas such as meditation, mindfulness, yoga, breathwork, sleep, stress, anxiety, emotional wellbeing, spirituality, somatic practices, movement, music for wellbeing, behavior change, psychology, mental health, or related consumer wellbeing fields.
• Ability to discern when a recommendation is likely to be beneficial, harmless, speculative, unsupported, overstated, or potentially risky.
• Proficient in analyzing trade-offs in ranking, retrieval, metadata pipelines, data quality, AI-assisted tagging, evaluation frameworks, and scalable content systems.
• Experience managing large content catalogs or marketplaces, with an understanding of what it takes to ensure millions of tracks are easily discoverable.
• Recognize that metadata is more than administrative; it serves as essential product infrastructure.
• Proficient in modern AI prototyping tools.
