Head of Global Payroll, Tax Compliance

📋 Description

• Team Leadership: Oversee and guide the junior payroll team, fostering their professional development and ensuring the precision of their work.

• Workflow Oversight: Handle the complete payroll process for over 15 states, serving as the ultimate point of escalation for intricate tax and system-related issues.

• Multi-State Tax Leadership: Expertly manage the withholding, filing, and reconciliation processes for more than 15 states, including SUTA/FUTA, FICA, and local tax nexus.

• System Optimization: Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ADP Workforce Now, ensuring smooth system integration and maintaining data integrity.

• Tax Compliance: Oversee the registration of new state tax IDs and ensure compliance with SUTA/FUTA/FICA across an expanding U.S. landscape.

• Compliance & Audit: Take charge of responses to all federal and state tax notices, garnishments, and year-end reconciliations (W-2/W-3).

• Strategic Reporting: Deliver accurate and timely reports to the C-suite regarding audits, 401k, and trend analysis.

• Process Engineering: Transform the payroll function from manual operations to automated, scalable excellence.

• Other Duties: Approach each day and task with a “ZAG” mindset. Additional duties and projects as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• US Payroll Expert: Significant experience managing U.S. payroll, with multi-state experience being essential.

• System Power User: Strong proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP WorkforceNow, Kronos/UKG, and Advanced Excel (including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and Macros).

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPP certification is highly advantageous).

• Communication: Exceptional English communication skills, with the ability to clarify complex tax matters to U.S.-based staff.

• Adaptability: Willingness to work from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM PHST to accommodate U.S. Eastern/Central time zones.
