• Create editorial themes focused on voice AI, enterprise AI, model development, customer impact, agents, and the future of human-AI collaboration.
• Discover stories across various domains including research, engineering, product, customer interactions, go-to-market strategies, and leadership; conduct interviews with internal and external stakeholders to gather valuable insights.
• Author, edit, and produce essential narrative materials such as executive posts, essays, customer stories, explainers, newsletters, and launch support across diverse formats and channels.
• Establish consistent editorial franchises and formats that reinforce Deepgram’s narrative over time.
• Enhance the accessibility, utility, and appeal of Deepgram’s technical, product, and customer narratives.
• Assist in supporting key events, including the fall gathering.
• Collaborate with teams in communications, product marketing, branding, design, video production, and demand generation.
• Develop editorial processes that enhance quality and consistency while avoiding unnecessary complexity.
• Over 8 years of experience in editorial, content creation, journalism, or a related field, with substantial experience in crafting insightful content about complex technologies.
• A portfolio that demonstrates your ability to create pieces that convey a genuine point of view rather than merely filling a content calendar.
• A discerning eye for engaging content: you recognize what is truly interesting, what appears credible, and how to present technical work in a way that is relevant and compelling without reducing it to generic marketing language.
• Outstanding writing and editing skills across various formats—executive essays, customer stories, explainers, newsletters—with a strong emphasis on clarity, substance, and craftsmanship.
• Proven capacity to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines—you can maintain a newsroom-style rhythm without compromising quality, and you view consistency as a method to establish authority rather than a reason to become complacent.
• The instincts of a reporter: you can engage with researchers, engineers, product personnel, and customers to distill complex material and uncover publishable insights.
• Skill in making technical depth comprehensible without sacrificing substance, ensuring the work remains useful to sophisticated audiences while accessible to a broader readership.
• A history of creating sustainable editorial formats and franchises that uphold quality and consistency over time, beyond mere one-off successes.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a builder's mindset—motivated by the opportunity to shape an editorial function from the ground up, you can devise streamlined processes that enhance quality without adding unnecessary weight.
• A collaborative approach, with experience partnering across communications, product marketing, branding, design, video production, and demand generation, along with the relationship-building skills to encourage idea generation from across the organization.
• Sufficient familiarity with (or genuine curiosity about) technical subjects to engage meaningfully with topics such as model development, enterprise AI, and agents. You don’t need to be an engineer, but curiosity in this area is essential.
