This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee the creation and ongoing enhancement of a comprehensive AI Governance Framework that aligns with Dotmatics' risk appetite and regulatory requirements, such as the EU AI Act, ISO 42001, and NIST AI RMF.
• Maintain a registry of AI use cases, establish risk tiering and oversight levels for AI systems, and offer subject matter expertise to assess AI tools, models, and applications proposed by business and product teams.
• Collaborate with leadership and functional teams to evaluate AI use cases with regard to model behavior, data usage, privacy, and operational risk.
• Act as the program lead for the Dotmatics AI Governance Council, managing agendas, workflows, and materials prepared for decision-making by the Council and executive teams.
• Serve as the primary liaison for Dotmatics to the Siemens AI Governance Consortium, representing the organization in cross-portfolio working groups.
• Provide AI governance responses to customer RFIs, security questionnaires, and due diligence requests.
• Integrate governance checkpoints into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) alongside Product and Engineering; align AI controls with the overall security posture and incident response protocols.
• Lead the formulation and upkeep of AI governance policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and corresponding documentation; develop and deliver AI governance training throughout the organization.
• Generate management reports, metrics, and dashboards to keep senior leadership updated on program status, risk exposure, and control effectiveness.
• Foster continuous improvement by integrating lessons learned, evolving standards, and updates in regulatory requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Risk Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 15-20 years of experience in information security, technology risk management, data governance, or compliance within a regulated industry.
• 5-8 years of progressive experience specifically in AI/ML governance.
• Experience in the Life Sciences (GxP) sector and familiarity with the scientific informatics or cheminformatics domain is a significant advantage.
• Proven experience in designing or managing AI governance programs, model risk management frameworks, or technology risk management processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of the AI risk landscape, including generative AI, large language models, AI agents, and related regulatory expectations.
• Working knowledge of global AI and privacy regulatory frameworks, including the EU AI Act, GDPR, NIST AI RMF, and ISO/IEC 42001.
• Established ability to engage and influence cross-functional stakeholder groups, including HR, Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Executive leadership, without direct authority.
• Experience in managing or contributing to governance councils, steering committees, or similar oversight entities.
• Extensive knowledge of AI/ML technologies, including large language models, AI-enabled applications, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Implementation-level understanding of information security principles, data privacy controls, and life science compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, ISO 9001, GxP, GDPR, CCPA).
• Strong project management skills with a proven track record of developing programs and processes from the ground up.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the capability to prepare executive-level materials and governance documentation.
• Relevant professional certifications are desirable: AIGP, CIPP, CISM, CRISC, or equivalent.
