Graduate Assistant, Student Worker – Part-time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Support students in grasping discipline-specific material, enhancing study skills, and cultivating their academic writing, organizational, and critical thinking abilities.

• Aid students in comprehending writing standards.

• Deliver synchronous one-on-one and small group sessions.

• Facilitate content-specific research labs created in partnership with faculty.

• Collaborate closely with faculty to remain updated on course or discipline requirements.

• Assist students in understanding essential concepts, particularly those taught in the classroom.

• Guide students in becoming independent, self-directed learners.

• Provide feedback to students following sessions.

• Keep records of student interactions.

• Help students recognize their academic strengths and weaknesses and connect them with the appropriate resources for success.

• Create academic resources, including video tutorials and lessons on assigned subjects.

• Uphold the mission of the Academic Success Center (ASC) at National University.

• Engage in mandatory training, coaching, and other initiatives that enhance high-quality student support.

• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Academic Success Center (ASC) Director and/or Associate Director.

• Maintain reasonable and consistent attendance to meet the position's requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Enrollment in a graduate program at National University or an equivalent institution.

• Proven expertise in [Subject Area(s) of focus], accompanied by a strong academic performance.

• Must submit two recommendations from faculty or school leadership.

• One recommendation must come from the faculty member providing content-specific guidance.

• Must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.

• Previous experience in mentoring, tutoring, or teaching is preferred.

• A dedication to advancing student learning and academic success in a diverse and inclusive setting.

• Experience in an online learning environment is required.

• Prior experience working with online students is preferred.

• Experience in a technology-driven organization is preferred.
