This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Support the development and optimization of generative AI solutions utilizing GPT-4, Claude, Gemini, and Azure OpenAI Service.
• Construct, evaluate, and enhance prompts to boost the quality, accuracy, and consistency of LLM outputs.
• Contribute to systems for retrieval-augmented generation by using vector databases, embedding models, and semantic search pipelines.
• Investigate emerging techniques in generative AI, foundation models, and industry best practices.
• Summarize research insights for the development team.
• Aid in the creation of evaluation frameworks and quality assurance pipelines for content generated by AI.
• Develop technical guides, API documentation, and libraries of prompts.
• Engage in code reviews, team meetings, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert operational needs into technical solutions.
• Gradually take on more complex responsibilities as the internship progresses.
• Support IRAD initiatives that focus on AI/ML-driven platforms for operations within the Information Environment.
• Design secure, production-grade AI solutions for mission-critical information operations in a defense technology setting.
• Currently enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program in fields such as Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing, or a related technical discipline.
• Completion of at least one semester of graduate coursework before the start date of the internship.
• Proficient programming abilities in Python, with familiarity in NumPy, Pandas, and scikit-learn.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts, neural networks, and principles of natural language processing.
• Exposure to large language models through coursework, research projects, or personal endeavors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• US citizenship is required.
• Must be eligible to obtain Secret clearance.
• Desired: Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face Transformers, prompt engineering, vector databases, embedding models, cloud platforms, NLP/generative AI research, responsible AI, Git/GitHub, multimodal AI, computer vision, or reinforcement learning.
