Gastroenterology Care Coordinator, Auth Scheduling Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Facilitate patient referrals and liaise with both referring and receiving practices and/or departments

• Organize and prepare financial estimates for patients as necessary

• Acquire all necessary authorizations

• Guide patients to providers that are within their insurance network

• Assess benefits and provide patients with information regarding their insurance coverage

• Coordinate and arrange surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, and additional services across departments with both internal and ancillary providers

• Review schedules to ensure accuracy and appropriate time allocation

• Follow up on all referrals to guarantee there are no gaps in care

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory

• Proficiency in computer usage is required

• Experience in customer service is necessary

• Preferred: Comprehensive understanding of Insurance coverage (FSC/Coverage/Plan types) and Medical Necessity policies

• Preferred: Familiarity with medical records software

• Ability to sit for extended periods and thrive in a fast-paced office environment is essential

• Must be capable of bending and lifting up to 10 lbs.
