This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead features from problem identification through collaborative design, full-stack development, implementation, monitoring, deployment, and experimentation. Each project must align with a clear PLG metric.
• Develop the next iteration of LaunchDarkly's onboarding experience, incorporating agentic flows that integrate within a developer's IDE and connect to MCP servers and LLM-powered tools. The objective is to ensure customers have a functional flag deployed in production on their first day.
• Measure and analyze the growth funnel: signup, activation, first flag, first experiment, and first paid conversion. Conduct experiments that enhance each step.
• Deliver MCP server functionalities and agent capabilities that extend LaunchDarkly into the tools commonly used by customers.
• Collaborate closely with our Product Manager (Natalie Friedman), design team, and data analyst to transform qualitative feedback from self-service customers into actionable experiments.
• Utilize LaunchDarkly internally. Implement flags, controlled rollouts, and experimentation in your own projects. Provide the product team with genuine feedback regarding the developer experience.
• In line with our you-build-it-you-run-it culture, all developers may be tasked with supporting applications in production, including on-call responsibilities.
• Over 5 years of full-stack engineering experience, with a portfolio showcasing features you have personally developed from concept to production.
• Experience in deploying AI-first features in a production environment. You have utilized MCP servers, agent frameworks, or LLM tools in real products, not just in demos, and possess insights on effective practices.
• Proficient across the technology stack. Strong capabilities in TypeScript and React for the frontend, and comfortable with Go or Node for the backend. Our technology stack is based on TypeScript and Go.
• Proven ability to influence product-led growth metrics. Practical experience with instrumentation, funnel analysis, and A/B testing. You consider both leading and lagging indicators.
• A habit of experimentation. You are adept at defining hypotheses, implementing flags, executing tests, analyzing outcomes honestly, and adapting your views based on results.
• Keen understanding of what constitutes effective developer onboarding. You have a perspective on distinguishing between friction as a bug and as a feature.
• A collaborative engineer who thrives working alongside product and design teams, communicates effectively, and appreciates the non-coding aspects of the role.
• A genuine interest in the role of AI within a developer platform. You have contemplated where agents enhance your own workflow and wish to integrate that insight into a product that many developers will engage with.
