Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Engage in discovery sessions to grasp departmental requirements and translate them into frontend solutions, acting as a liaison between stakeholders and development teams.

• Create, document, and sustain reusable UI components, ensuring adherence to design principles, accessibility standards, and optimization for AI-assisted workflows.

• Independently write and maintain intricate frontend code using OutSystems (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript), focusing on performance, cross-browser compatibility, and WCAG compliance.

• Utilize OutSystems to develop, customize, and enhance frontend components.

• Leverage AI coding assistants to expedite development, verify outputs against quality benchmarks, and share effective AI practices within the team.

• Design and implement testing strategies (unit, integration, acceptance), engage in code reviews, and independently resolve frontend challenges.

• Efficiently identify and troubleshoot frontend issues and bugs.

• Stay updated on frontend technologies, OutSystems updates, and emerging best practices.

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and team retrospectives.

• Collaborate proactively with designers, backend developers, and product stakeholders.

• Provide support to junior developers through code reviews and knowledge-sharing.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in frontend development, including over 1 year of experience with the OutSystems platform.

• Strong expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, along with a solid understanding of at least one frontend framework (React, Vue, or Angular).

• Experience in Accessibility (WCAG), responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.

• Familiarity with OutSystems development and design systems (experience contributing to a design system is advantageous).

• Comfortable utilizing AI-assisted development tools (code generation, refactoring, documentation) and critically assessing AI-generated outputs.

• Excellent communication skills in English, capable of articulating ideas and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
