Frontend Developer – 12-month contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage scalable frontend applications utilizing React and TypeScript.

• Create and uphold reusable, responsive UI components.

• Enhance application performance to ensure a seamless, low-latency user experience.

• Supervise application state and data-fetching methodologies.

• Connect frontend applications with REST and GraphQL APIs.

• Implement monitoring tools in frontend systems, set up alerting, and lead incident responses related to the frontend.

• Promote CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and progressive rollouts.

• Work collaboratively with Product, Mobile, QE, and Data teams to ensure continuous delivery.

• Engage in architectural decisions, RFCs, and technical design evaluations.

• Investigate and resolve production challenges utilizing Datadog, distributed tracing, and log analysis.

• Take part in the Agile software development process within a cross-functional team.

• Provide support and mentorship to team members.

• Own the frontend systems end-to-end, covering architecture, component design, deployment, and performance monitoring.

• Deliver frontend services pertinent to delivery areas and fee systems utilized by internal operators and the logistics platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building and managing production frontend applications at scale.

• Strong expertise in React and TypeScript.

• Profound understanding of modern CSS and responsive design principles.

• Familiarity with Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress or Playwright.

• In-depth knowledge of Web APIs, browser internals, and performance optimization techniques.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for web applications and contemporary build tools like Vite and Webpack.

• Hands-on experience deploying to AWS and/or Azure.

• Proven experience operating services on Kubernetes (EKS).

• Practical knowledge of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar technologies.

• Experience in preparing repositories for agent readiness, including clear READMEs, AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md files, structured coding conventions, and reproducible local setups.

• Proficient in using AI agents for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and automated PR workflows.

• Experience in integrating AI into frontend engineering processes.

• Familiarity with prompt engineering and evaluating AI-generated outputs in software development.

• Awareness of best practices in AI-driven development, focusing on reliability, reproducibility, and accessibility.

• Experience with Vue 2 and Vue 3 is an advantage.

• Knowledge of design systems and Figma is a plus.

• Experience in Agile, fast-paced, continuous delivery environments.
