Freelance Linguist – Telugu

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Conducting translations, along with reviewing and ensuring quality assurance (QA) of Telugu translation tasks.

• Executing copy-editing and linguistic assessments to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines.

• Offering constructive feedback to translators and freelancers to enhance overall quality.

• Overseeing and updating language assets (including glossaries, style guides, and work instructions) to maintain their accuracy and consistency.

• Managing and addressing linguistic inquiries from translators, project managers, and others.

• Facilitating effective collaboration within the translation team by clarifying terminology, stylistic preferences, and linguistic concerns.

• Assisting in the onboarding, development, and training of new linguists and freelancers as needed.

• Engaging in the creation of new and improved review and quality assurance processes.

• Achieving or surpassing quality and productivity KPIs established for the position.

• Meeting the objectives set forth by the Squad Lead / Language Lead.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in translation, review, or localization.

• Native fluency in Telugu (India).

• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).

• Strong understanding of the localization process and review workflows.

• Competence in standard software applications (Windows, MS Office).

• Practical experience with CAT tools (such as XTM, SDL Studio, Polyglot, Mate Cat, ATMS, fbCAT, etc.) and query/issue management platforms (like JIRA).

• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new localization tools.

• A university degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistics, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
