Fraud Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough exploratory and forensic analyses on intricate, unstructured fraud cases that fall beyond the reach of our automated AI systems due to insufficient structured data.

• Examine extensive historical datasets utilizing BigQuery to identify, confirm, and recommend new predictive variables (features). Your insights will be essential for our ML & AI Engineers to integrate these features into AI agents and the overall rules engine.

• Spearhead high-priority, critical analysis initiatives outlined in our strategic plan. This includes defining suspicious user groups, mapping Anti-Money Laundering (AML) networks, and establishing a methodological distinction between credit default (mora) and genuine fraud.

• Create and develop prototypes for statistical models and analytical scripts (e.g., graph and connection analysis for detecting money laundering) to validate logic prior to the automation by the AI Engineering team in production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Degrees in Data Science, Actuarial Science, or Mathematics are also highly regarded).

• Advanced SQL & BigQuery Skills: Strong capability in producing complex queries for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis within BigQuery.

• Data Prototyping & Statistical Knowledge: Proficient in prototyping statistical models and employing scripting languages (such as Python or R) for exploratory data analysis, graph analysis, and feature validation.

• Fraud Domain Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of fintech fraud types (Account Takeover, onboarding fraud, synthetic identities) and the ability to convert suspicious payment patterns into technical rules.

• Analytical Problem-Solving: Possess a highly analytical mindset with the capability to impose structure on unstructured data, especially when probing complex anomalies or assessing the profitability versus risk of new financial products.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey forensic findings into actionable technical requirements for Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and operational teams.
