This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.
• Perform comprehensive reviews of post-transaction activities related to suspected fraud cases (e.g., account takeover, identity theft).
• Utilize basic SQL or visualization tools to analyze case-level data, identify emerging fraud patterns, and suggest hypotheses for rule improvements to the strategy team.
• Extract, summarize, and present key fraud metrics such as loss trends, alert volumes, and operational bottlenecks through dashboards or scheduled reporting.
• Maintain Management Information Systems (MIS) for the Financial Planning & Insights (FP&I) department of the bank in accordance with regulatory and group standards.
• Review and scrutinize system/database logs of Mashreq Pakistan Systems for instances of fraud.
• Compile daily trends across various systems, including but not limited to EFM Systems and Tickets.
• Develop dashboards for EFM, ticketing systems, and Transaction Monitoring to assess associated risks.
• Conduct in-depth analysis in key areas to facilitate process automation.
• Analyze data for rule establishment aimed at minimizing or mitigating fraud risk through the effective use of fraud detection tools.
• Serve as a backup for the Transaction Monitoring system for fraud detection when necessary.
• Bachelor's degree (4 years), preferably in Computer Science.
• Proficient in data science and machine learning methodologies.
• At least 1 year of experience in fraud detection, risk management, payments, or a related field (preferably in fintech, banking, or e-commerce).
• Capable of writing basic SQL queries or using dashboards (Power BI) for case-level analysis extraction and interpretation.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements.
