This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer expert advice and guidance to Arootah clients seeking assistance with the research and analysis of investment concepts. This role will involve consulting with some of the world's leading Alternative Asset Funds and Family Offices, utilizing your experience as a Research Analyst to assist clients in:
• Providing insights on investment research frameworks and methodologies, aiding clients in creating comprehensive processes for assessing opportunities in both public and private markets, which includes fundamental analysis, sector research, and valuation techniques.
• Developing manager due diligence frameworks by establishing standardized assessment criteria, analytical tools, and processes to evaluate investment managers' strategies, track records, and operational capabilities.
• Creating financial modeling templates and tools, including DCF models, comparable company analysis frameworks, LBO models, and portfolio allocation tools for client investment teams.
• Setting research documentation standards by designing templates for investment memos, research reports, due diligence summaries, and presentations to ensure consistency and thoroughness.
• Implementing performance monitoring and benchmarking systems, crafting frameworks for tracking portfolios, analyzing attribution, conducting peer comparisons, and identifying optimization opportunities.
• Training investment teams on research best practices through workshops focused on research methodologies, analytical techniques, data sources, and industry standards for investment analysis.
• Establishing research infrastructure and knowledge management systems by organizing databases, information repositories, and document management protocols for efficient information retrieval and retention of institutional knowledge.
• Assisting with special projects that involve research process assessments, methodology improvements, technology platform evaluations, and team training programs requiring research expertise.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CFA designation is required.
• An MBA or an advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or Quantitative Analysis is advantageous.
• CFP or any relevant industry designation is a plus. A minimum of 8+ years of specialized research experience and 5-8 years of investment experience is preferred.
• Strong financial acumen along with skills in financial modeling and valuation.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and various software applications (such as Morningstar Direct, Microsoft Office, FactSet, Bloomberg, BlackRock Aladdin, etc.).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to convey information effectively in a presentation format to groups.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members while also being capable of self-direction when necessary.
• Ability to distill research into an investable thesis and produce a report or note.
• Excellent analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated.
• Collaborative and diplomatic, able to partner cross-functionally with various internal stakeholders.
• Comfort and experience in roles that involve a degree of ambiguity, necessitating creative analysis and action.
