This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.
• Actively advocating for school enrollment and community support by attending community events, networking with local leaders, providing tours at an affiliated academy, communicating with individuals on the interest list, and engaging with families.
• Leading the selection and acquisition of curricula for all subjects in alignment with Great Hearts, including any intervention programs.
• Recruiting faculty and staff who align with the mission of the organization.
• Developing a comprehensive and proactive strategy for assessing students in reading and mathematics, aimed at bridging academic gaps.
• Designing a school schedule that allocates time for interventions, facilitates collaboration among grade-level teams, and adheres to legislative requirements.
• Collaborating with the Great Hearts project management team to achieve all milestones across various functions such as construction, marketing, enrollment, IT, academics, professional development, talent acquisition, and HR.
• Ensuring alignment with all Great Hearts policies as specified in the Standard Schools Policy Guide, Employee Handbook, and Family Handbook.
• Establishing both quantitative and qualitative objectives in partnership with the Executive Director(s) and the Superintendent.
• Planning, delegating, and executing tasks to achieve set goals.
• Cultivating a diverse and competent leadership team that fosters the school's goals and culture.
• Overseeing and assessing the performance of the leadership team.
• Coordinating with the Executive Director(s) and central office service departments to provide comprehensive support to the school.
• Managing the school budget with foresight and discipline.
• Overseeing and managing the enrollment process.
• Fostering an atmosphere of trust among students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ensuring the school implements a comprehensive discipline policy that is clearly communicated and administered fairly and judiciously.
• Observing and coaching teachers in accordance with network standards.
• Collaborating with central office staff to manage and coach school personnel.
• Conducting interviews and hiring faculty and staff based on campus needs, hiring protocols, and budget constraints.
• Supervising the effective planning and execution of projects and events under the campus leadership's jurisdiction.
• Fostering a culture of instructional planning among educators.
• Advocating for a culture of achievement among students.
• Overseeing the necessary systems, practices, and assessment cycles.
• Utilizing specific, identified data sources to guide and evaluate instructional practices.
• Implementing professional development tailored to the needs of teachers.
• Building a cohesive faculty and staff culture that values the liberal arts and aspires toward excellence in instruction.
• Meeting regularly with parents to engage in meaningful dialogue.
• Ensuring that special needs students are accurately identified and accommodated by all relevant staff and faculty.
• Implementing school-wide procedures and policies to guarantee student safety.
• Cultivating a student culture that is civil, respectful, hardworking, and community-oriented.
• Establishing a culture of open communication with parents through both formal and informal channels, striving to unite the parent community into a supportive and well-informed group that understands the educational and cultural distinctions of the school and supports the necessary personal efforts for student success.
• A degree from an accredited university.
• A personal commitment to the educational philosophy, core values, and ethical standards upheld by Great Hearts Academies.
• A passion for lifelong learning, exemplifying humility, hard work, and civil discourse.
• Proven track record of achieving exceptional results with students and effectively managing adults.
• Preferably three to five years of instructional leadership experience, including at least two years in school administration.
• Strong personal communication skills and the ability to build robust relationships with all stakeholders.
• A desire to thrive in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with colleagues.
• Capability to interpret student data effectively.
• Self-awareness regarding personal strengths and areas for growth.
• Openness to receiving feedback with humility and an eagerness to grow and develop.
• Willingness to adapt in a constantly evolving field and face challenges positively.
