This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Panama.
• Lead initiatives to enhance FSC Forest Management certification in Panama.
• Identify new certification prospects and provide support to current and potential certificate holders.
• Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders and offer practical technical guidance.
• Facilitate training and assist organizations throughout their certification process.
• Collaborate closely with forest managers, companies, governmental institutions, communities, and other partners.
• Create practical resources and tools that aid in the adoption and implementation of FSC standards.
• Conduct regular field visits to evaluate needs, tackle challenges, and discover opportunities for ongoing improvement.
• A university degree in Forestry, Forest Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agroforestry, Agronomy, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
• Additional training in forest certification systems, sustainable forest management, or auditing is an asset.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in forestry, sustainable forest management, certification, environmental management, or similar sectors.
• Proven experience working directly with forest managers, forest owners, forestry companies, or certification holders.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering training, workshops, and capacity-building programs.
• Strong experience in stakeholder engagement, including collaboration with public, private, and civil society organizations.
• Experience in providing practical technical support in field environments.
• Familiarity with FSC certification systems and standards is highly sought after.
• An established professional network within Panama's forestry and environmental sectors is advantageous.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Comfortable with frequent field visits and working in remote locations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard office software.
• Fluent in Spanish (both written and spoken) and possess professional proficiency in English.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
