Financial Educator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Consult with patients about their benefits, coverage options, and financial alternatives.

• Perform tasks related to benefit verification and prior authorization.

• Offer ongoing financial education and support to patients as an educator, advocate, and liaison throughout their care journey.

• Manage patient accounts by collecting, recording, and updating personal financial and insurance details.

• Collaborate effectively with various departments, employees, physicians, managers, patients, and insurance providers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in a medical business office setting.

• Familiarity with healthcare billing and collections, insurance/benefits, and patient interactions.

• Experience in interpreting payer remittance advice, including allowed charges, contractual adjustments, line item denials/reasons, and patient responsibilities (co-pay, co-insurance, and deductibles).

• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

• Experience in an OB/GYN office is an advantage.

• Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for communication with departments, employees, physicians, managers, patients, and insurance companies.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capacity to work independently.

• Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy.

• Proficient with technology.

• Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.

• High level of customer service orientation.

• Availability Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern Time.
