Finance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mauritius.

📋 Description

• Serve as the Finance Manager for designated Group companies operating across Africa.

• Oversee and provide support to local finance teams in various jurisdictions.

• Evaluate management accounts, reconciliations, cash-flow forecasts, and financial reports.

• Track working capital, profitability, expenditures, receivables, payables, and cash needs.

• Offer financial advice to country managers, project managers, and operational teams.

• Travel frequently to Group operations to assess performance, controls, compliance, and finance team capabilities.

• Compile monthly management reports and analyze performance against budgets, forecasts, and previous periods.

• Identify variances, risks, and trends, and suggest corrective measures.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, financial models, and long-term business plans.

• Generate financial information and presentations for Board, shareholder, and management meetings.

• Aid with tax matters, corporate compliance, statutory filings, and regulatory obligations across jurisdictions.

• Review and enhance internal controls, approval processes, and reporting workflows.

• Identify and mitigate financial, tax, compliance, and operational risks.

• Enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and automation of financial reporting.

• Support ERP implementation, improvements, or integrations.

• Create standardized reporting templates, dashboards, and financial procedures.

• Train and assist finance personnel in systems, reporting tools, and accounting policies.

• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS and statutory requirements.

• Manage intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, foreign-currency translations, and consolidation adjustments.

• Coordinate annual audits and uphold Group accounting policies, reporting practices, and financial controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant or ACCA member.

• Candidates nearing qualification with most ACCA exams completed may also be considered.

• A relevant degree in accounting, finance, or a related field would be an advantage.

• 3–5 years of relevant post-qualification or senior-level experience is required.

• Prior experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or in another managerial finance position is essential.

• Proven experience in preparing group consolidated financial statements.

• Strong practical knowledge of IFRS is necessary.

• Experience in taxation, corporate compliance, and statutory financial reporting is required.

• Background within a diversified, multinational, or multi-entity group is highly preferred.

• Exposure to construction, mining, engineering, agriculture, or project-based businesses is advantageous.

• Experience in African jurisdictions is highly beneficial.

• Previous audit experience with a reputable accounting firm is a plus.
